2017: Trump’s Global Gag Rule and Senegal

In recent years, Senegal has made significant progress in expanding the contraceptive use and knowledge, and in reducing the number of maternal deaths. This, in part, can be attributed to an increase in both donor funds and government support for maternal and reproductive health programs. However, the Trump Global Gag Rule threatens to dismantle the progress that’s been made and worsen health care challenges that Senegal faces.
